Walking into a church for the first time isn’t always easy. At Swedeburg, you’ll find a warm, down-to-earth community where you can come as you are, get to know people, ask honest questions, and grow in faith. We’d love to have you join us.

Pastor Tamara approaches Scripture with a holy curiosity; taking the Bible seriously while asking thoughtful questions about what it means for our lives today. Messages are Bible-centered, relevant, and conversational, inviting us not only to understand Scripture, but to let it shape the way we follow Jesus.
Our worship includes music from many genres and styles, Scripture, prayer, a message rooted in the Bible, and opportunities to respond to what God is doing in our lives.
We value both the richness of Christian tradition and expressions of worship that speak to life today.
We’re glad you’re here, and we won’t put you on the spot. Visitors aren’t asked to stand, introduce themselves, or give us their information. Giving is an important spiritual practice in our church, but guests are never expected to give. We simply hope you’ll receive your welcome gift, settle in, and feel at home.
We believe the church is at its best when generations worship, learn, serve, and build relationships together. Children and youth aren't only the church of tomorrow; they're an important part of our church today.
You’ll find people in jeans, dresses, work boots, and everything in between. We care a lot more about having you here than what you’re wearing.
Worship is only part of Sunday morning. At 11:30, we gather for Coffee & Conversation, a relaxed time to grab something to drink, enjoy a snack, meet people, and simply spend some time together. You’re invited to stay.

At Swedeburg, we believe children aren’t just the future of the church—they are an important part of the church right now. That’s why we intentionally include kids in the life and worship of our congregation.
Children worship alongside the rest of our church family on Sunday mornings. We typically include a Children’s Message with an object lesson designed especially for them, while still connecting to what the whole congregation is learning together.
During the message, kids are welcome to use our Grace Space, where they can listen and engage at their own pace with busy bags, sermon notes, and other quiet activities. We expect kids to move, whisper, ask questions, and be kids. Their presence is part of what makes us a church family.
During the school year, we partner with Wahoo First United Methodist Church to provide Wednesday evening programming for kids.

Wednesday Night Live gives kids another opportunity to build friendships, have fun, learn about Jesus, and grow in faith alongside other children in our community.
Each summer, Swedeburg partners with Wahoo First United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church of Wahoo for Vacation Bible School. Kids from across our churches and community come together for a week of learning, music, activities, friendship, and fun as they discover more about God and grow in faith.
Current VBS dates and registration information are shared on our Events page as summer approaches.

Faith is meant to be lived in community. That’s why Swedeburg partners with Wahoo First United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church of Wahoo to create opportunities for middle and high school students to build friendships, ask honest questions, serve others, and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
During the school year, our youth gather on Wednesday evenings at Wahoo First United Methodist Church alongside students from our partner churches.

Wednesday nights are a place for students to connect, have fun, explore Scripture, talk about real life and faith, and grow alongside trusted adults and other students.
For students in 7th–9th grades, Confirmation provides a more intentional opportunity to explore the Christian faith and begin taking ownership of what they believe.
Through Scripture, conversation, questions, and relationships with trusted adults, students explore the Bible, the story of the Church, what it means to follow Jesus, and the beliefs and practices that shape our life together as Christians.
Confirmation isn’t about having all the right answers. It’s a place to ask real questions, wrestle with faith, and discover what it means to make faith your own.
Youth ministry extends well beyond our weekly gatherings. Throughout the year, students have opportunities to participate in summer camps, fall retreats, service projects, special events, and other experiences that help them build relationships and put their faith into practice.
Our high school students also have opportunities to participate in UNITE, the Evangelical Covenant Church’s national gathering for high school students, where Covenant youth from across the country come together for worship, discipleship, community, and unforgettable experiences.
Whether a student has grown up in church or is just beginning to explore faith, there’s room for them to belong, ask questions, and grow.
Our pastor’s office isn’t always in the church building. You’ll often find Pastor Tamara out in the community—helping at the food pantry, visiting with people, meeting with community partners, or working wherever ministry takes her that day.
Because of that, we don’t keep regular weekly office hours. But we’d be glad to meet you! If you’d like to talk with Pastor Tamara, visit the church, or inquire about using our building, simply contact us to arrange a time that works.
